The question is : What is forgiveness ?
Is it, I know you did something which I can expect you to be punished for, but I will not pursue that ? Is it, I will not think about this any more, and move on as if it didn't happen. Is it, I think you may be mentally ill, therefore not responsible ? + a thousand others. What is "forgiveness" ? One must define one's terms.

I recommend The Sunflower by Simon Wiesenthal. It's a wonderful book on what can be forgiven, should be forgiven and what limits there are.

As for forgiveness, we forgive those who trespass against us, so it leads us not into temptation, per the Lord's prayer (Matthew 6:9-15). Amen.

I wonder and Observer, Jesus says He does not forgive murderers. There's more to murder than meets the eye. Not only does murder take the life of the victim(s), the murderer also kills future children, grandchildren to infinite children that would have come through the victim if there never was the taking of this life. Then, the fact that a murdered person may not have come to salvation of Jesus Christ's truth. God knows what's in a person's heart. God also made provisions for this in the Day of the Lord.

Bucky, you need to ask Jesus Christ to prevent you from believing the lies of satan. You need to start to overcome his evil by repenting of your sins you know about, and those that you didn't have a clue was a sin, ask Him if you can start getting close to Him again, then of course, sin no more.
The more you focus on Jesus, the quicker satan disappears from your life. Even when satan keeps reappearing, you will see him clearly and not be blinded to his lies that enslaves people.

Forgiving those that trespass against us is what a Christian is suppose to do, because if we don't forgive those that trespass against us, our Lord won't forgive us, our sins. Never the less, the murderer needs to be sent back to the Lord, so that others will see and murder will stop among us.
Sorry HeavenSent...as Christians we can point to why they "should get the death penalty" ... but in John 8:7 Jesus gives the guidelines on who can carry out a capital punishment.

See, while you are trying to quote a scripture about tooth for a tooth ... I, on the other hand, have a direct ruling from Jesus on dealing with Government/society dealing with the issue of Capital Punishment. You see that is why as a Christian I can waver a bit on the LGBT issue but when it comes to capital punishment of a criminal that is already in custody, all I have to do is look towards John 8.
