Evangelist Billy Graham hospitalized

By the CNN Wire Staff

Updated Monday 5:30 a.m.

(CNN) - Evangelist Billy Graham was admitted to a hospital overnight for treatment of a pulmonary infection believed to be bronchitis, a North Carolina hospital and his evangelistic association said.

"Upon admission, he was alert and in good spirits," said the statement, which was released both by Mission Hospital in Asheville and the The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.

The 93-year-old also was hospitalized for pneumonia last November, six months after similarly being admitted to a hospital for the same condition. Since then, he has remained "in good overall health ... though he continues to remain at home due to age-related conditions," according to the hospital and the association.

Is the prayer actually working? Perhaps taking him to see a doctor is best, seeing how fairy tales have no relevance in the real world.

All presidents except for Obama...probably because of the whole 1/2 Black Muslim thing? But I could be wrong?

Billy and his sheep are under the impression that Obama is a Muslim. How many so-called Christians would be offering prayers and get-well-soon wishes if Obama was in the hospital? Don't answer...none of you would. Funny how is is okay to hate other people because of they worship a faith other than Christianity...just do not say anything bad about hypocrites that call themselves Christians

I did not know people like him would need a hospital since he has God to rely on ! How could something like this happen to a man that is protected by God ! Ministers always say God is all we need ! I guess poor little old reality came into play !

If heaven is the ultimate paradise, why cling so desperately to life? Do religious sheep even ask these questions? Naive.

That's just it. Religion is a psychological device to side-step our fear of death.

I hope the Jewish specialists can cure him. He "doesn't remember" the anti Semitic comments he made in Nixon's notorious tapes.

Why not pray to get better? Oh yeah, prayer is fake. Religion is a tool to control the minds of massive amounts of unintelligent sheep.

Just wish the man well and keep the negative comments to yourself. When anyone is sick you should not criticize them. Just pray for them and if you can't do that be quiet. What did Thumper say if you can't say something nice say nothing at all. If it was your loved one you would not like it if someone made some of these comments about them. God is love! We all have made mistakes what if you were in the hospital and people discussed you this way.

Velda, it's called freedom of speech. Who are you to tell people what they can and cannot say? Must be nice to be so holier than thou, btw.

Quite appropriate quoting an imaginary character, Thumper, while prattling about Graham's imaginary friend, god. They're both fairy tales.

Blows my mind how many people hate God and his people. "Forgive them for they know not what they do" ~ Jesus
So it's with those words that he spoke as he was nailed to a cross, for your sin, my sin, your hate and all of humanity, that we as believers CHOOSE to love you anyways.

Perhaps you really should say, "Father what hast thou foresaken me." Hmmm . . . which was it?

He has lead a good life, his way. But, it's a good thing these narrow minded, limited antiques are wrapping it up so to speak. He and others like him live in the past. A life of teaching fear and intimidation. As we evolve and become more understanding we realize what they speak isn't the whole truth.

Wow. So many people hate this man for no reason other than he is a Christian. This man is in my prayers he has done this world a service. He has preached his beliefs in Jesus Christ and has always been a prime example of what a Christian should be.

Seriously think about what you people are posting. You hate him and mock him because he is a Christian. He like anyone who has lived this long deserves respect. Would you honestly say these things in person to him?

I do not hate him because he is a Christian. I do not like him because he is a bigot.

I hope he begins to understand how much his hatred for people who don't agree with has caused this world so much pain. I'm sure it won't be long before this will become abundantly clear.

Jesus will save him because he has been telepathically communicating with him for years. Duh. Also because he is white.

Prayer does not; you are such a LIAR. You have NO proof it changes anything! A great example of prayer proven not to work is the Christians in jail because prayer didn't work and their children died. For example: Susan Grady, who relied on prayer to heal her son. Nine-year-old Aaron Grady died and Susan Grady was arrested.

An article in the Journal of Pediatrics examined the deaths of 172 children from families who relied upon faith healing from 1975 to 1995. They concluded that four out of five ill children, who died under the care of faith healers or being left to prayer only, would most likely have survived if they had received medical care.

The statistical studies from the nineteenth century and the three CCU studies on prayer are quite consistent with the fact that humanity is wasting a huge amount of time on a procedure that simply doesn’t work. Nonetheless, faith in prayer is so pervasive and deeply rooted, you can be sure believers will continue to devise future studies in a desperate effort to confirm their beliefs!

I wonder what Billy would say if the doctor came in to the room, started babbling in tongues. placed his hand on Billy's chest then handed him a five thousand dollar bill and walked out.
