Evangelist Billy Graham hospitalized

By the CNN Wire Staff

Updated Monday 5:30 a.m.

(CNN) - Evangelist Billy Graham was admitted to a hospital overnight for treatment of a pulmonary infection believed to be bronchitis, a North Carolina hospital and his evangelistic association said.

"Upon admission, he was alert and in good spirits," said the statement, which was released both by Mission Hospital in Asheville and the The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.

The 93-year-old also was hospitalized for pneumonia last November, six months after similarly being admitted to a hospital for the same condition. Since then, he has remained "in good overall health ... though he continues to remain at home due to age-related conditions," according to the hospital and the association.

All religious people are losers. Period. Evolve into modern humans please. Science is saving his life. Not magic fairy tales.

funny thing about christianity: mary was a virgin when god hit that and knocked her up. mary was married to joseph, yet a virgin. something doesn't add up there.

When he goes to the hospital, do they test his blood and run scientific diagnostics or does some moron in a white robe light candles and wax jibberish about fairy tales?

Unforutunately, that was just wishful thinking. Hopefully, this time it's the real deal and he can finally meet Satan.

I thought that he had a direct line to God and a personal stairway to heaven. Can't he just pray himself well as he has advocated for decades that others do?

Looks like god finally wants to have a little talk with him about all he's done to promote his name.

What Billy Graham does or does not do has no bearing on how we should be living and does not give anyone an excuse. We have the inspired word of God, the Bible, as our guide for us to read and study. If you do not believe, I pray that changes soon.

Phillipians 2:12- Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

Fallopians 6:66–"He who shall blast a swimmer into my lathery glove may someday be forced to raise the spawn of Satan."
this is the word of the lord.

Billy Graham is a giant among men and he stood for decency all his life. For those that want to trash him they are probably living the low life and can not tolerate a decent human being.

Graham is a giant PIG (no offense to pigs) whose bigotry destroyed countless lives. May he rot in hell with all of history's other monsters.

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

9Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him! 10For if, when we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! 11Not only is this so, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.

How many people gave their life savings thinking money would get them into the sky ? Keep your money and send your kids to college . If he is truly a servant of God than let God give him the money ! And why would a servant of God be so un willing to go visit God he would stop by a hospital ran by mere people !

I agree. Besides what does God need with money?

Just reading through these comments concerning a story – about an important Christian leader hospitalized – makes it clear how much hatred there is towards Christians. To those acquainted with the Gospel, this should come as no surprise.

Stuff the phoney persecution complex. He's only receiving the scorn so richly deserved. "important christian leader" – LOL.

If you look up who wrote the bible you will find all the stories in the bible were stories people wrote .

You christians amaze me. Even though i used to be one. You spew hate and intolerance towards people not believing in your god". your bible says people who don't believe "go to hell". then talk about hate coming from the other side. amazing gall

Pat the sooner your hate consumes you the better. Let it continue to eat away at you. I find it totally amusing.

Oh Steve. People not thinking exactly what you do is not persecution. Slavery, being abused without legal recourse, not being able to vote, not being able to marry the person you love, having politicians decide your reproductive choices - this is persecution. But if feeling sorry for yourself makes you happy, then go on right ahead.

But Chad, your god is all knowing, isn't he? How could (i) he make an error in when he kills Billy Graham; and (ii) an omniscient being be persuaded to change its mind.

If 1000 people pray, does your god read all our minds or just some of them?

      August 12, 2012 at 4:29 pm |
    • ErickMN

Indeed. There's a desperately poor little old lady in Scranton who still has a nickle of her life savings left. Get it Billy (you pig)!

      August 12, 2012 at 4:40 pm |
    • Chad

@Colin "your god is all knowing, isn't he? How could he make an error in when he kills Billy Graham
@Chad "He cant, God doesnt make errors.. not sure how that relates to my wishing Billy well, and myself expressing my opinion that his work isnt complete yet, perhaps you can explain..or not 😉 "

@Colin "[How could] an omniscient being be persuaded to change its mind."
@Chad "Omniscience is the capacity to know everything that there is to know, there are many examples in the Bible where God was "persuaded to change His mind (or He at least allowed humanity to believe that He was doing so, when in fact that had been His intent all the time, but wanted humanity to get involved).

can you explain(or not..) why you would say that an omniscient being couldnt change His mind? Especially when it comes to humanity who has free will?

@Colin "If 1000 people pray, does your god read all our minds or just some of them?"
@Chad "God is aware of all prayers made in His name"

      August 12, 2012 at 4:55 pm |
    • Chad

@ErickMN, @Mark, @Pat carr: perhaps the you could provide some evidence of Billy enriching himself unjustifiably at the expense of anyone?

or not, you wouldnt be just spouting nonsense would you? of course not, I'm sure you will be following up with the details (and please remember, attempting to paint Billy with a brush dipped in paint of some other crooked evangelist isnt logical, nor is any statement that begins with "all you christians...."

      August 12, 2012 at 4:59 pm |
    • Colin

Chad, because an omniscient being would know in advance that it was going to "change its mind" so changing its mind is meaningless as it always knew what its course of conduct would ultimately be.

Pointing out cases in the Bible of the Judeo Christian god changing its mind is just another example of how completely riddled with nonsense that tome is.

      August 12, 2012 at 6:08 pm |
    • Chad

Remember that there is no past, present and future for God, as he lives outside out time/space (capable of entering it).
So there is no such thing as "God knowing what He will do in the future". The passage of time is a human notion, because that is what we are used to here on earth.

So you can try again,, how exactly does having having complete or unlimited knowledge, awareness, or understanding; perceiving all things imply that He cant change His mind and decide on a different course of action?

      August 12, 2012 at 6:19 pm |
    • Chad

this may also help you understand:

t if God has issued a decree, He will not change His mind or deviate from it. However, the majority of God’s statements of intention are not decrees. And God can and often does deviate from such announcements. In these cases He “changes His mind” in the sense that He decides, at least for the time being, not to do what He had planned or announced as His intention.

No matter what men may do or say, the truth is that one day you will stand before GOD to give account of your actions and inactions, heaven is real and hell fire is the choice of GOD's enemies there is no hiding place unless you repent . Billy Graham is a servant of GOD and he preached the bitter truth and that's it.
