Washington (CNN) - A prominent atheist group is using next month's Democratic National Convention to take aim at the presidential candidates' religion, putting up billboards targeting Mormonism and Christianity in Charlotte, North Carolina.
“Our political system is rife with religion and it depends too much on religion and not enough on substance," said David Silverman, president of American Atheists, sponsor of the ads.
"Religion is silly and religion has components that are inherently divisive. … There is no place for any of that in the political system,” he said.
The billboards go up Monday in Charlotte and will stay up for a month at a cost of roughly $15,000. The Democratic convention runs September 3-6.
CNN’s Belief Blog: The faith angles behind the biggest stories
The billboard targeting Christianity features an image of Jesus Christ on toast and this description of the faith: "Sadistic God; Useless Savior, 30,000+ Versions of ‘Truth,’ Promotes Hates, Calls it ‘Love.’ ”
The billboard targeting Mormonism lambastes - and, Mormons would say, distorts - specific Mormon doctrines: "God is a Space Alien, Baptizes Dead People, Big Money, Big Bigotry.”
The Mormon billboard features a man in white underwear, a reference to special Mormon garments.

Both billboards feature the line "Atheism: Simply Reasonable."
American Atheists had wanted to put the anti-Mormon billboard in Tampa, Florida, to coincide with the Republican National Convention there later this month. Presumptive GOP nominee Mitt Romney is a Mormon. When no billboard company in the city would lease the group space for such a sign, Silverman said the organization decided to focus solely on the Democrats in Charlotte.
“Presidential conventions are for ideas, not ideology - platforms, not platitudes," Silverman said. "If a person believes stupid things, we have every right to question his or her judgment, and that directly impacts how the nonreligious voter votes.”
CNN Belief Blog: Atheist leader hopes to mobilize closeted nonbelievers
Some religious leaders said the billboards showed a misunderstanding of how faith works.
"That billboard makes the most common high-school error when it comes to atheism," wrote the Rev. James Martin, a Jesuit priest and author, in an e-mail to CNN. "It's not arguing against the existence of God, but against religion. The American Atheists need to go back to school on this one."
Martin also questioned the language used on the billboard: "And as for 'promoting hate' they're doing a bang-up job themselves with that billboard."
Terryl Givens, a Mormon professor at the University of Richmond, called American Atheists "petty and vindictive."
“If this example of adolescent silliness is what atheists mean by being reasonable, then neither Mormons nor other Christians have much to worry about," he said of the billboards. "When atheists organize to serve the poor and needy of the world, they will be taken more seriously."
CNN Belief Blog: Unbelieving preachers 'come out' as atheists
It's not the first time the American Atheists group has released in-your-face billboards. Earlier this year, the group put up two billboards in heavily Muslim and Jewish enclaves in New Jersey and New York bearing messages in Arabic and Hebrew.
“You know it’s a myth … and you have a choice,” the billboards said. At the time, Silverman said the signs were intended to reach atheists in Muslim and Jewish areas who may feel isolated because they are surrounded by believers.
In addition to the billboards, Silverman said his group plans to stage protests at both conventions.
"Martin also questioned the language used on the billboard: "And as for 'promoting hate' they're doing a bang-up job themselves with that billboard."
So any opposing point of view is hate? Religion and belief are not like race... i see people sometimes call each other bigots when arguing about religion..... this is wrong.... religion, in this country- for now at least, is a Choice and as such opens you up to criticism... call it hate all you want, but I dont have to respect anyones made up garbage.
Religion is like political views. You don't see anyone saying that you can't criticize the other party. Why, exactly, is religion somehow different?
Tom Tom using name calling as valid argument had made him/her/itself sounds silly.
Christians bow down to an insane homeless jewish man who had greasy hair lol just lol.

Now, this essential service of warning the world of Chad's idiocy and pointing out his nonsense is distributed to better serve the public who have to suffer through Chad's posts.
Cool. That's a lot to take on, given the sheer volume and frequency of nonsense that Chad posts, but if you folks in the service have any spare cycles, please take on Prism too.

Hey buddy, how is it that you made yourself a watchman and a 'fallacy"spotter, but you let the the enemyof your soul slide in and rob you of half of your existence, by darkening your mind and filling your heart with garbage against the only hope you have in this and next life, Jesus Christ, making you dead while you're still living? ....You failed at your own calling!
BTW, did you know that the Latin words you use don't make you sound smarter? LOL! 🙂
fallacy spotter might gain a clue as to what Pascals wager is, but until that time it appears the "fallacy" spotter will continue as a clueless moron unable to tell what a fallacy is.
Posts by 'on judgement day' and 'PRISM 1234' are instances of the ad hominem fallacy.

" fallacy spotter might gain a clue as to what Pascals wager is, but until that time it appears the "fallacy" spotter will continue as a clueless moron unable to tell what a fallacy is."
I'm sure -Fallacy Spotting 101 knows what Pascal's Wager is... I'm curious, do you ?
Peace...
Yes and that is not it.

judgement day is a bad joke and those who use to theaten people are impotent little bed wetting punks....like their savior
Meh. He's just another iteration of herbie the gerbil.
Your souls destiny depends on whether or not you can spot the fallacies which the enemy of your soul is filling your mind and numbing your heart with... NOT on whether you can spot or spell 'Pascal Wagner' fallacies.
Blind leading the blind, they both fall over the cliff!
Prissy, you are beyond idiotic.
Do you seriously expect anyone with a brain to read your posts and react in any way but with embarrassed laughter?
What are your qualifications as an interpreter of Scripture? Are you a Doctor of Divinity? Are you in possession of a Master's Degree in Religion?
Do enlighten all of us as to your authority on all things religious.
Tom-Tom, i will tell you this once and then no more:
If you want to waste your time making a fool of yourself by posting your stupid remarks each time my post appears, then go ahead and do so. But when your name appears in bold letters above the words of your post, to me they'll be black dots on white background, not worth my time nor any attention.
You are a poor little loser who has nothing of substance and value to con'tribute, overtaken by poison you keep in your heart through hate, which exposes the turmoil that's inside of your soul. .
May God help you see your own condition before is too late for you! For this I will keep praying, and that's something you can't do anything about.... God hears prayers of His people!
Prissy, you moron, go fvck yourself sideways with a skillet.
ATTENTION!
There is a PARROT calling himself "Fallacy Spotting" that's invading CNN Belief Blog! Here, pretty birdie...
Polly wanna cra/cker... Squawk!
POST “A”: Sim34 I will making 5 consecutive posts (POSTS A-E)
In closing out my interaction on this BLOG because my wife hasn't seen me in 3 days, you need to know I do personally appreciate your mature interaction. I appreciate the amount of legitimate thought and consideration that went into your post (and that it is the only reason I am respectfully replying). It does amaze me, however, that you would even consider an atheistic/evolutionary worldview in light of the presence of “thought” and “information” that is coded within man & Creation in general. A “Creation” where a supposed “natural” order, like we experience here on earth, should theoretically (if not scientifically) not exist, since “disorder” and “decay” (i.e. 2nd Law of Thermodynamics”) is the “natural/materialistic” norm (Quantum Mechanics and String Theory notwithstanding – That’s a joke!). So, aside from the fact that I strongly disagree with how you positioned your argument by “negation and re-categorization” of the Bible’s internal, objective, historically verifiable evidence & claims 9of which I will not again write), I see your “orderly” reply and “creative logic” as a witness for the existence of “God” (I can hear the screams now: “Non-sequitur!”, “Non-se-qui-turrrrr!”) – Though I do not think it is an “illogical leap”, hence our disagreement.
POST “B”:
That all being said n “POST A”, I previously stated (not sure it was herein) that: “COMMUNICATION" IN ANY FORM, SUCH AS CREATION, LANGUAGE, or MATHEMATICS, EVIDENCES AN INTELLIGENT BEING. Take the “Crop Circle” phenomenon, as an example. It is my view that unless these are being created by some new “earthly government technology” (i.e. Government(s) trying to create a paradigm shift) I have to “logically” assume there is some other unexplained/unrevealed (as of yet) INTELLIGENT BEING behind this (i.e. extraterrestrial or interdimensional beings). Would anyone disagree with that conclusion? I suppose some might – and I would differ again.
Hoping this **POST “C” get through: Therefore, I do propose that this ‘created world order’ in which we live, logically evidences an Intelligent “BEING” behind the veil of matter; not some impersonal force, mystical energy, vapor or eternal “law”/“principle”, etc. Is that really an irrational “leap”? I know you will say YES, but if you would allow yourself to entertain that possibility for a minute, you can then ask the next question: Wouldn’t it stand to reason that this “Source Being” (“Logos”) of this “created order”, “life”, “communication”, “logic”, “reason”, use these mediums to reveal Himself (“Herself”, for the NOW group)? This then raises the questions of WHY doesn’t He simply APPEAR? Why does He require FAITH? Good sequence of questions! >>> The Biblical answer is that it pertains to His Plan of Salvation/Redemption and the separating of His “seed” and the “demonic seed” co-existing here. I am convinced, by a type of “objective” faith (though it does incorporate “subjectivity”), that He has “communicated” Himself and this “Plan” to us by the Bible, and then vindicated its Authority & Truth by the “Logos” that became flesh (John 1:1); i.e. The Historic Person of Jesus of Nazareth.
Crop circles are made by people.
"Is that really an irrational “leap”? "
Yes it is because you are only claiming causation, you are not demonstating it. If you were to say it is a possibility it would be one thing but to say it is undeniable is another.
Please tell me you don't really believe that crop circles are made by anything other than people.
Chessemaker: I agree – But the Bible doesn't – Nor does it ask for our opinion on it.
For me, the verdict is still out on the Crop Circle thing – Call me a primordial swamp idot if you will. Buti f you truly haven't objectively looked into it I would reserve judgment on me...or not...
I am having trouble posting my POST "D" – not sure what word(s) are blocking it from going through. And I can't skip to POST "E" until I get "D" through...
"that He has “communicated” Himself and this “Plan” to us by the Bible"
Can you demonstate that the bible has any information in it that was not already available to man before it? I am not talking about mere assetions, but something that we could point to and say "this is unquestionably a communication from an all knowing being". If "communication" is the "evidence" why did god do such a great job "communicating" through nature and a terrible job communicating through the bible?
"But the Bible doesn't – Nor does it ask for our opinion on it."
jesusNot Religion
You are right it does not ask our opinion, it orders us to believe an illogical dogma and then threatens us with eternal punishment if we reject it as true, an immoral premise.
Chessemaker...Yes, but after you demonstrate to me where the "information" pre-coded in genetics came from, because it certainly isn't evolutionary...You can Google and order "Unlocking The Mysteries of Life" (DVD)...
That being said...Do you really think you are the only "intellect" that has asked the question you just did? And yet some of the greatest minds that ever walked this planet have embraced it's truth and authority, and been radically transformed by its power...
I do apologize but I am experiencing "technical difficulty" in finishing up my closing posts – Would you think ill of me if I let out an expletive??
jNR, Here's the list, in case you don't have it.

The jury is not out on crop circles – they know who made some of them and they were people. They are not hard to make.
First you are claiming the dna information was "pre-coded". There is no reason to think that it was. And why is evolution not an acceptable answer (I am not talking about abiogenisis)? Evolution is supported by every related science as to how life can expand from simple to complex. It does not answer how life started but I will not take the answer "god did it" from your bible because the bible has not answered one question correctly about how the world actually works that was not already known to man at that time.
Sure, plenty of intelligent people believe in a god, but that does not make it a good argument. As an example many people point to Issac Newton as being a believer, Issac Newton also belived in alchemy. Intelligent people can be wrong, the argument should stand or fall on its own merits. Pascal was a good philosopher but Pascal's Wager is a terrible argument.
let's see if some "Helping Hints" worked (Thanks Tom, Tom – you do have a heart! 😉
POST “D”: Jesus confirms this (see POST “C”) when He is quoted as saying the following: “If I had not appeared and spoken to them (mankind), they would not have any sin” (John 15:22). The reason is, as Jesus said, because the entire Old Testament bore witness to Who He is, Why He was sent and What He came to “finish”; namely atonement for sin through His death & resurrection. And if He did come as it was written of Him it would have been fallacious, and therefore not carrying the Authority to bind "sin" on us...See the following passage from Luke (the Historian/Physician):
Luke 24:44-47 He said to them, “This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms.” 45 Then He opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures. 46 He told them, “This is what is written: The Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, 47 and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. 48 You are witnesses of these things.”
Wow..."D" went through – Now for "E" then lastly Post "F"...
POST “E”: So, as I stated in some prior post, even Plato, Aristotle, Socrates (and other great minds – greater minds that any of us bloggernuts) “logically reasoned” that the mere presence of “thought” and “order” governed by “information” is testament to some “Great Logos” (Gk: “word”; ultimate “Source” of “Logic”, “Reason”, etc). Yet you yourself, as a legitimate “thinker”, using “logic” and “communication”, cannot ascend to that same conclusion – and is unfortunately adding to the blinding of your mind (2 Cor. 4:3ff), and the hardening of your heart. That’s the “Biblical” rationale – i.e. the diagnosis from that Book you don’t believe in. A” Book” consisting of 66 “books” with one cohesive theme (Messianic Redemption), written over 1500-1600 years, on 3 different continents, by 40 different human writers (i.e. fisherman, shepherds kings, farmers, etc), in 3 different languages, ¼ of which is prophetic, with over 25,000+ manuscripts, archaeologically supported, life transforming (for the better when true conversion occurs), critiqued beyond measure, and TIME TESTED.
OK, you're a primordial swamp idiot. Crop circles are made by PEOPLE.
Anyone who is gullible enough to believe some co ckamamie tale about crop circles is too stupid to consider a sentient being.
POST “F” for "FAITHUL" or "FOOL", or perhaps "Faithful Fool for the gospel" (That would actually be a compliment! – See
1 Corinthians 1:18ff)
You can take "Moses" out of the Pentateuch, "Mohammed" out of the Koran, "Confucius" out of Confucianism, "Siddartha Gautama" (Buddha) out of Buddhism, or "Krishna" out of the Bhagavad Gita and you can STILL HAVE THEIR MORAL/ETHICAL "TEACHINGS"...But...You CAN'T take "Jesus" out of Christianity because He is the OBJECT of saving faith that will be consummated by His glorious return; His life, death, resurrection 7 return – His Story (History) ain't over yet folks!
So here's the simple, yet profound invitation: Come to Jesus NOT Religion, ask Him if He exists – but that would take some level of faith, wouldn't it? Yes, but try it anyway – it couldn't hurt anything but your pride!
Tom, Tom...I said "the verdict is still out" for me...Go google it...I will take your "primodial idot" official as*signment to me as your own special way of saying "I like you – thanks for the memories"...;-)
Cheesemaker – I'm moving on – The answer to your questions, as I have already stated, are out on the web for you to find...No excuses...
...btw, Tom Tom & JWT...you proved my point that the crop circles didn't happen by "accident" – they indeed communicate the presence of an imtelligent being behind their "creation"...Now just apply that to the witness of the "created" world around you that bears witness to the truth you affirmed in your posts above...Thanks!
This isnthe primordial idiot who worships JesusNotReligion...signing off...I'm melting...melting! Pay no attention to that God behind the Creation...
jesusNotReligion
Wouldn't a planned creation by the most intelligent being imaginable have designed us better? Our eyes produce images that are upside down. They match the simplest cameras invented by people, except that we eliminated the blind spot that our weirdly placed optic nerves make. Ectopic pregnancies are only possible through poor design of the female reproductive system. Baby heads are often too big for normal delivery. The migration of testes during incubation causes weak points that can create hernias later in a man's life. We can't create vitamin C for ourselves like other creatures can. There are many other examples of bad design not only in us, but throughout the living kingdoms. If God designed life with these flaws, what kind of an incompetent designer was he?
The big bang theory does not violate the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics because the universe is expanding. This causes shifts in equilibrium so you can have pockets of order in one place of the universe and disorder elsewhere.
How did I re-categorize the Bible? My arguments about the Bible revolve around it being a text written by men because that's what it is. It's not some living, intelligent being that can "give witness" to events it lived through. "It" has no objective viewpoint. People wrote it, and they obviously had some very positive feelings about YHWH, right? That's a testimonial, not an impartial history.
The case for God is just as weak as it is for any of the thousands of other gods worshipped by man. Almost all of these other gods have been discarded as mere mythic inventions by the vast majority of humanity, including most Christians, without having first been PROVEN to not actually exist out there somewhere. Why do you imagine God is the exception to the general rule, because he is the most popular of the remaining gods?
@Chadwatch a public service "Multiverse theories do not rely on a "first cause". Someone is tripping on their own feet."
=>hmm, perhaps you could point out where I actually made that claim?
😉
Hello Chad. What are you doing up here?
Chad...Before I offically bow out of this particular BLOG I wanted to let you know how much I appreciated your comments and the posts from B4bigbang – they were excellent and they will stand as a witness to the glory of our God. And let it be known for the record that I do not know who "Chad" is or "B4bingbang – and they do not know me – yet we have all "experienced" the life-transforming power of the "living Word of God" confirmed in the life, death & resurrection of JesusNotReligion.
I am about to post a major LONG closing comment in reply to Sim34 who is one of the most gracious, if not the most gracious atheist I have ever dealt with. There's hope while "faith" not "sight" is required – after that, it's too damn late. And that's from the heart! – Closing MEGA POST comiing right up. Please let me know if it reads clearly as I had a problem on another post that I typed in an email and cut/pasted into the blog...It came out clear on my end but scrambled with characters on your end...Thanks!

Dear The Chad,
I have no recollection of ever posting that comment; however, I have noticed several other people posting as Chadwatch. I generally see this as a good thing, as it takes a village to combat misinformation (which is why organizations like the National Center for Science Education are necessary). So, I am proud to say that Chadwatch is not only a public service, but it is truly public.
Good luck with baiting someone into an inane argument today!
Sincerely, your friends at
Chadwatch
@Chadwatch –
"The Chad" is asserting that you and I are one in the same (see: http://religion.blogs.cnn.com/2012/08/13/first-on-cnn-atheist-group-targets-presidential-candidates-faith-with-billboards/comment-page-53 – starting with Chad's post at August 17, 2012 at 10:46 pm)
Defend your honor!
PS: Just for your information, it is the policy of Chadwatch, a public service to never engage you in debate, but only to point out the tediousness and absurdity of your debates through:
1. predicting your arguments
2. parodying your writing style
3. (most importantly) warning newcomers of the consequences of engaging The Chad (e.g., ocular injuries from repeated eye rolling, blood pressure spikes from reading cleverly crafted misleading statements, hyperventilation as a result of exasperated sighing, tendency to want to smack something from repeated exposure to your emoticons and smart-alecky habit of misrepresenting someone's statement and then saying "...right?", etc.)
@Chadwatch –
I have redirected previous efforts applied to my "Nonsensical Chad-bites" project and have started a "Dishonest things Chad posts" project. In the spirit of your open-source Chadwatch project, I invite you to also track Chad's incessant dishonest.
Cheers
dishonesty...argh.
I noticed that, actually, and didn't bother to respond. Although I am honored by the suggestion, it is true that you are not me and I am not you.
Chadwatch is no one, and everyone. But wherever The Chad rears his head, I will be there! Wherever science, philosophy, and rational thought are being shamelessly violated like an innocent girl in the hands of Old West bad guys, I will be there! Wherever empirical observations are being.....oh, you get the point.
Really-O, does this task entail a salary or is it piece-work?
I would apply for the position, but I already have a full-time job, and keeping tabs on Chad's dishonest statements, misrepresentation of others' words, and use of snarky emoticons and phrases such as "get it" would be far too time-consuming to allow me to do my best.
However, for the right salary, I could be persuaded...
@Chadwatch – More clever stuff. Thanks
@Tom, Tom, the Piper's Son – Sorry, no salary. Consider it a work of love and, possibly, civic duty.
Thank you, Really-O? I would be happy to join the effort!
I have also decided to accept the suggestion from the esteemed Rufus T. Firefly to substitute "Magic Mike" wherever The Chad refers to an "external force" or "supernatural orchestrator" etc. It really is an effective way to point out how childishly absurd many of them are!
This post is only to remove (a message to Chadwatch) from my handle. Sheesh.
@Chadwatch –
Yup. I followed the evolution of the "Mad Mike" reference and have already used it. Mad props.
Perhaps we could establish some sort of Chad Bingo based upon his catchphrases like "get it?" and "right?" and "please do some reading"
bonus points for a Wikipedia quote? No, too easy.
...damn! Sorry..."Magic Mike". I was thinking ahead to the end of my sentence.
@Chadwatch –
Regarding "Chad Bingo"...sounds like one hell of a drinking game!
If I'm correct in assuming that Chad has narcissistic tendencies and, like an abused child, prefers negative reinforcement to being ignored...he must be on cloud nine today.
Chad Bingo possibilities: "=>hmm, perhaps you could point out where I actually made that claim?" "Get it?" "Right"? 😉
I don't know about the drinking game – too drunk, too fast (especially if we declared a double-drink rule for every Stephen Jay Gould reference).
With regard to feeding his toddler-level "any-attention-is-good-attention" narcissism, I say good for him. Having every one of his impassioned arguments go down like burning biplane has to sting sometimes.
Here's another one: "Where in the Bible does it say that?"
@Tom, Tom, the Piper's Son –
If we included "instances of plagiarism" we'd all be blotto withing ten minutes.
@Tom, Tom, the Piper's Son –
If we included "instances of plagiarism" we'd all be blotto within ten minutes.
Belief Blog glitch...who 'da thought?
@Chadwatch – "Stephen Jay Gould reference"
Cirrhosis, here we come!
Some of my favorites:
"ah, but the devil's in the details..."
"I'm always happy to get an atheist to admit that..(followed by misleading statement)"
"phyletic gradualism is dead!"
@Tom, Tom, the Piper's Son – '"Here's another one: "Where in the Bible does it say that?"'
...how about the "context" argument? We need to codify this endeavor – I think we have a winner on our hands!
@Chadwatch – "phyletic gradualism is dead!"
Damn! I'm on the floor!
...however, personally I prefer, ""phyletic gradualism is dead, dead, dead!" Triple the nonsense.
"well, everyone knows you can get little dogs from big dogs, but..."
Chadwatch, can you set up a Bingo card? We can each plug in the card with all of the usual canards the Vegetable regularly uses, along with the topics in his Rolodex, putting each phrase in the boxes in any order each of us chooses. Once we've each set up our cards, the game begins. Every time the Vegetable posts one of the plat itudes or brings up one of the topics, we put a 'token' in that square. When we hit 5 in a row, it's BINGO!
Tell these commie atheists to go home 5 times is too much.
Paul, do you know that the 2nd of 10 commandments means not to take the name of the Lord your God lightly by making it common and draging it down to man's level? This video is NOT funny.
If it pi$$e$ Prissy off, it has got to be funny
Science and logic and little arguements that don't go anywhere and things like that are what atheists use. They never know anything for sure. I know for sure what God wants me to know. I'll never be an atheist.
Post by 'Vidia' contains an instance of the Willed Ignorance fallacy with additional ad hominem elements.
http://www.fallacyfiles.org
It's good that you know what your god wants. Atheists know what is needed in life every bit as much as any religious type does.
Personally as an atheists it has never mattered what any god wants.
See I told you!
Vidia, every true believer of every one of the thousands of gods that were ever worshiped had the same certainty you do. It doesn't prove that any of those gods existed, even yours. Personal ignorance and intellectual laziness aren't proof of god. The only thing they prove is ignorance and intellectual laziness.
The fool says there is no god. The atheist says there is no god. The communist says there is no god.
Seeing a pattern where there's a pattern.
No, that's not a pattern. And you're a pretty bad troll.
The pattern is very clear – there are no gods
John 8:47-"He who belongs to God hears what God says. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God."
John 3:18-"He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."
John 8:44-"You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father's desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies."
It is very simple atheist, you do not belong to GOD, but indeed you are of the devil. That is why it is impossible for you to believe because GOD is not in you nor does He know you. Lets read what Jesus said He will say to those who does not belong to Him on judgement day.
Matthew 25:41-"Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels."
Only in your little and confused mind.
Jesus...
So people either belong to GOD and everything is obvious to them and everything will be great, or they do not belong to GOD and they will go to some sort of eternal torment. Who has a choice here? GOD? People?
It must be hard being you. All those gods, angels, demons, and spirits running around inside your head.
He was born in an obscure village.
He worked in a carpenter shop until he was about thirty.
He then became an itinerant preacher.
He never held an office.
He never had a family or owned a house.
He didn't go to college.
He had no credentials but Himself.
After preaching three years, the public turned against Him.
His friends ran away.
He was turned over to His enemies and went through the mockery of a trial.
He was nailed to a cross between two thieves.
While He was dying, His executioners gambled for His clothing, the only property He had on earth.
He was laid in a borrowed grave.
Nineteen centuries have come and gone,
and today He is the central figure of the human race.
All the armies that ever marched,
all the navies that ever sailed,
all the parliaments that ever sat, and
all the kings that ever reigned
have not affected the life of man on the earth as much as that ONE SOLITARY LIFE
This says it all!

@PRISM 1234 –
In terms of tangible benefit to the well-being of mankind, Jesus doesn't hold a candle to the seminal work of Nobel laureate Alexander Fleming.
Well then friend, let Alexander Fleming stand as your Advocate when you face God who created you, without Jesus Christ to cover your miserable soul!
From what I understand, this man was a great and noble man, and would never compare himself to The Lord of lords and King of kings. Only fools without any understanding dare to spout such folly!
If your god thinks he is my creator or that he may stand in judgement of me then your god is the fool.
JWT, you are a poor lost soul. You just don't know in what shape you really are.
Sorry that you will have to find out the hard way! 🙂
Hmmm.... Unsubstantiated threats and promises vs antibiotics. It's a pretty easy choice. I'm afraid that Alexander Fleming wins this one.
I am in perfectly fine and strong shape – as a non-christian none of your particular christian rules apply to me, and the never will.
Your eternity is just a breath away. Even the air you breathe is not your own! And you boast yourself of strength, and proudly parade yourself before your Maker?! O, you blind, foolish man! Your ego has blown you up with much of hot air, and it's drifting you further into self-delusion and darkness. What a picture of strength you are, hm! .....Oh, Mercy!
you no good at troll
My "maker" is my parents. I am proud of the person I am – If I were not I would make myself a better person.
Where do you get off on presuming that your god is the ruler of all, for it is not. Nor should it be. Your delusions that your god rules all can be controlled with medications perhaps.
Trolls don't write posts like these!
OK buster, keep going.... keep floating.... keep humming to yourself!
Cheers!
Despite having little concept of happy and sad I am a cheery person – life has so much to be cheery about. I have no reason to want to trade my life for anyone else's. Life is good in all it's wonder.

LOL!
All the atheists posting are communists.

I suspect "!" is actually "Nope!". I would hate to think there were two such inept trolls on this blog.
tallulah13, even the number 13 in your name proves you're a communist. Communists are taught by the tribe that isn't a tribe.
@! –
Do you have any understanding of communism?
Work on your reading comprehension, PRISM. Review this before you post again, and this time, read more carefully, stupid:
"And don't try that old excuse that it will happen some day. That just leads to more legit doubt, and your BMITS apparently threatens torture for that, so no thanks."
Really-O?
Chad, William L Craig and others who use the kalam argument are trying to bend the philosophy of science to support their view of the world. This is happening at the bleeding edge of what can be known. Maybe the last refuge for the god of the gaps?
Hey Tom, what are you doing here?
Prayer changes things .
HeavenSentUnhealthyUntruthSayin, stop wimping out and answer the question: Does your Jesus wear a thong?
You want an answer prove your allegations. God bless
Now, late at night, I imagine Chad furiously looking through old Scientific Americans and Wikipedia trying to find things to shore up his ideas. I guess he'll trot them out tomorrow.
At the end of the day, after all the semantics, the rhetoric, the science, the philosophies and any other discipline of formal debate we are left with the undeniable truth...to be continued...
The undeniable Truth.
your jesus is not my lord, never was and never will be.
You've got that right, JWT!
Satan said the same thing, yet he trembles at the Name of Jesus Christ. So will you!
...orange juice tastes horrible just after brushing your teeth?
JWT,
You better watch out....Prism says his god is going to beat you up!
So Prism1234, how can it be that your super powerful bearded man in the sky isn't strong or capable enough to just do away with little mean Satan? Sure seems like your BMITS isn't worthy of the name God. And don't try that old excuse that it will happen some day. That just leads to more legit doubt, and your BMITS apparently threatens torture for that, so no thanks.
Dennis, I do not desire to involve in debate with person of your att'itude and mindset, but I will answer this one thing... You said "how can it be that your super powerful bearded man in the sky isn't strong or capable enough to just do away with little mean Satan?"
Because my God does WHAT He wills and WHEN He wills it, but your god does what he is ALLOWED to do, and only for a season of time!

Rufus, that is most undeniably the truth.
Prism's god is no more than a school yard bully and he will run squealing like a scared little girl when people stand up to his tyranny
JWT, that's exactly what satan (who is your lord and whose servant you are), is telling his gathering army. He knows "what time" it is, and he is preparing. But God's people are not ignorant of what's happening!
You are certainly in no position to proclaim that your sky fairy has sway over another. It's utter nonsense.
Recent post by 'PRISM 1234' is again a form of the flawed argument known as Pascal's Wager.

The communist says there is no god. The atheist says there is no god. The fool says there is no god.
Is anyone seeing a pattern here?
I see three falsehoods. Is that the pattern?
I see three false claims. Is that the pattern?
I see three statements made by a gay troll. Is that the pattern?
The pattern is atheists have false teachers that preach communism.
At least they HAVE teachers and brains, as opposed to you, who has neither.
The funny thing is Jesus taught a lot of communistic ideals. Sharing? Thats communist.
Jesus would totally be a occupy movement member and take it a step further. After all capitalism is quite literally reliant on one of the 7 deadly sins greed for it to survive. So much for moral values.
@Andrew
Well said ! !
