"Christ died for all sin..." "... except the sin of not believing that He died for all sin."
"God's justice was satisfied in the cross of Christ." ..."God's justice demands eternal torment or annihilation"
"GOD IS THE SAVIOR OF ALL MANKIND (1 Tim. 4:10)..." "... except for about ninety percent of them."
The DMV gives licenses to all.... except for those who have not passed the exam yet.
Not sure where these statements are headed, but the DMV isn't supposed to grant driver's licenses to everyone. Driving's a privilege, not a right. Additionally, some states offer Identification cards, often for free, to anyone who can't get a DL.
Did you know the DMV charges $25.00 for a replacement driver's license? Outrageous.
What the charge for a replacement soul? I think the dog ate my other one.
@ME II
Still $25.00
"Grace is unmerited favor..." "... given only to those who merit it with faith and obedience."
given only to those who merit it with faith and obedience
What are you quoting here?
"Men are in bondage to sin." ..."Men are free to choose Christ."
But I kind of like bondage.
Men are free to choose Christ.
What are you quoting here?
The more discoveries are made the more pieces of god are eliminated.
good riddance
Can you give us an example?
@Mike
We no longer pray to god to cure illnesses, we use medicine.
Flat earth
Demonic possession
Geocentric universe
Germ theory of disease
etc.
The more discoveries that are made the more God is confirmed.
@truth, please explain what you mean by that.....
My religion took a real sock to the gut when evolution was posited. My Christ Buddy and I have been on a downward spiral since then. Thinking of it gives me a queasy tummy. I think I just sharted...
@Huebert, we still pray because medicine is still only a guess in some cases still
ME II
Where does the bible declare a flat earth? Please don't quote Revelation incorrectly, or poetry literally
Prove demonic possession doesn't exist?
Geocentric universe? Germ theory of disease? What claim are you referring to?
"We can't boast about going to heaven." ..."If we go to hell, it's our own fault."
We can't boast about Heaven because we deserve Hell for the treason we have committed.
Just like the person who is saved by life star can't boast about saving his own life from an accident he committed.
" we deserve Hell for the treason we have committed"
I have committed no treason. And if I did, I would be tried in a court of law, not by some mythical magical sky daddy.
look for primewonk it will be one of those with the oh sh it look on its face.
@on judgement day,
If I believed as you apparently do, I'd be more worried about judging others and where that might end up...
judgement day is a joke
those who look forward to this are petty, vindictive pr1cks, and so is their god
@Prime, you did commit treason, we all have, God has laid out the foundations of the world and the way it is to work. We have all turned our back and say "I know better than God" since we have transgress against the creator this does amount to treason. And you are correct, every law in the land treats treason with a death penalty.
treason? we did not commit treason.
how can we say we know better than beings in which we do not believe?
seriously, did you skip out on logic class, or do you just like grovelling?
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things.
Once a soul sins, it forfeits it right to life.” It dies. The punishment for sin
is instantaneous death. Now, since we are Westerners, we’ve got this, “Oh, man, that punishment doesn’t fit the crime.”
But it absolutely does. To rebel against God is open treason. That’s what it is. It’s you saying by your behavior and by
your actions, “I will not sit under Your Lordship, I will not sit under Your command, and I will not sit under Your rules
or Your Laws. I’ll make my own. I’ll do what I want. I’m smarter than You. I know how this works better than You.” Now
try that with any government in the world and see if it does not end with the death of many leaders and maybe the
entire movement
He said “Don’t eat this fruit, for if you eat it you
will surely die.” So the price of treason was death, and that’s just and it’s right and that’s how most governments, even
to this day in our enlightened era, operate. You try to overthrow the state; you die or go to prison forever. That’s what
God said, “Don’t you eat of this fruit, that’s treason, that’s rebellion, you do it and I’m going to kill you.” Then Adam and
Eve do it and God does not kill them. It’s the first act of mercy, occurring at the instance sin is introduced into the world,
and that curse of death, remains over all of us
Now let’s wrap this thing up with a scary yet good verse. It’s kind of a crescendo here so let’s look at it. It might not feel
that way to you but we’ll read it and we’ll talk about it. “When Christ, who is your life appears, then you also will appear
with Him in glory.” So the Second Advent is coming. Christmas is the first advent. They’re waiting on the Messiah, the
Messiah comes, He dies on the cross, He purchases our souls and He absorbs all of God’s wrath so that all that was in
God’s wrath ultimately disappears. There is victory over death now. Death has no sting, no victory. Disease has lost its
power. All of that, Christ has purchased all of that in the cross. We live between the two advents in what theologians
would call “already not yet.” So it’s already paid for but it’s has not been consummated yet. So the day is coming when
Christ returns and the Bible makes that great day of the Lord a pretty scary even for most of humanity. Most of humanity
will want mountains to fall on them to hide them, and there will be no place to hide. Every act of treason, every act
of rebellion, every errant word, every bit of wickedness, every bit of self exaltation, every bit of narcissism, every act
of “forget You, God. I’m smarter than You,” is laid bare before you and God. And just if we look at this from a biblical
perspective, more godly, more righteous people than you and me will ever be got to see God face to face and fell on
the round absolutely terrified. Isaiah, who was upright man of God, sees God, falls on the ground and says, “Woe is me.”
The same word is used later when Jesus says to the Pharisees, “Woe is you; woe is you.” So you’ve got this idea of “woe.”
He’s saying, “Woe is me.” Why? “Because I am a man of unclean lips and my eyes have seen the King.” So at once glance
at Jesus Christ, at God enthroned, Isaiah falls on the ground and is terrified and says, “Woe is me.” John, according to
tradition, is boiled alive and doesn’t die and also, for the record, doesn’t recant. He doesn’t say, “We made it all up.” He
doesn’t die, so they exile him to Patmos. He sees Jesus in a vision and falls on the ground like a dead man. So you and
I, probably on any plane you want to lay down – moral, knowledge of Scripture, spiritual gifting, we are probably not
going to be in the same league as those two guys in particular. And yet, both of them see God and are terrified. The
day is coming where God’s patience is gone, His abounding love has been poured out in the elect and it will be over.
And when that happens, He’s going to crack the sky, He’s going to come back and He’s going to judge and all that we
have done will be revealed. There will be no place to hide. There will be no lies that work. Every motivation exposed.
So basically, the file drawer opens up, I don’t think there is literally a file drawer, this is an illustration. And here we start
reading every wicked thought and every wicked action. And on that day, we’re going to want a Champion. On that day, we
are going to want someone to go, “Uh huh, paid in full. I paid for that. I paid for that. I paid for that.” So Paul says we are
serious about the things of God and we pursue God seriously, because when Christ is revealed in all His glory we want to
be raised with Him. We want someone to step in at that moment and say, “I paid for that. I absorbed that. What was due
that, I paid for in full.
"God controls all things." ..."God doesn't control man's free will."
God control's all things, including controlling giving you the option to choose.
McD servers all the food and how it is cooked but you still get to pick off the menu.
Mike – the folks are McDonald's do not claim either omnipotence or omniscience like your version of a god does. As such, your god knows if you are going to heaven or hell. Your god knew this before he created you. Your god knew this before he created the universe. There is no way you can fool god and end up where he doesn't know you will go. Therefore, freewill is only an illusion.
McD controls the food preparation, not it's consumption.
Additionally, no one get thrown in the fryer for choosing wrong.
on one hand, you say god controls all things (apparently, you putting an apostrophe where it doesn't belong), then you say we have free will. those two statements are inconsistent
@PrimeWork, did you know who is going to win the 1986 world series? Did you have anything to do with Bill Buckner misplaying the ball or do you take away Bill's freewill because you now have the 86 world series on tape?
I understand that a being outside of time is a hard concept to grasp.
When Gutenberg started printing books, the Word spread in a way it had never spread before. New ways of thinking about our relationship with God emerged out of this great invention. Is it a surprise that the Way is now using computers, the newest "great invention", to spread the good news? We should embrace innovations such as these that start new conversations about the good news. Great idea.
"You are absolutely, totally helpless to save yourself." ..."You must make a wise decision in order to be saved."
i think that instant access to information will be the death knell of religion
The more discoveries are made the more the Word of God is confirmed.

"There's nothing you must do to be saved......"
TRANSLATION: "Here's what you must do to be saved:"
You can't save your self you must rely on God.
Why is this a hard concept, you can not perform your own open heart surgery but you still have to consult with the doctor who does it for you.
i find it interesting that people desire eternity with a being from which they have to be saved
I guess praying and meditation are old school.
OMG, the preacher just said, “He is pinching his tits next to Sodom and Gomorrah” LOL, brb. Send.
Prayer changes things
Hi Prayerbot.
I'm sorry, "Atheism is not healthy for children and other living things", but your assertions regarding atheism and prayer are unfounded. Using my Idiomatic Expression Equivalency module, the expression that best matches the degree to which your assertions may represent truths is: "TOTAL FAIL".
I see that you repeat these unfounded statements with high frequency. Perhaps the following book can help you:

This troll is not a christian.
Prayer does not; you are such a LIAR. You have NO proof it changes anything! A great example of prayer proven not to work is the Christians in jail because prayer didn't work and their children died. For example: Susan Grady, who relied on prayer to heal her son. Nine-year-old Aaron Grady died and Susan Grady was arrested.
An article in the Journal of Pediatrics examined the deaths of 172 children from families who relied upon faith healing from 1975 to 1995. They concluded that four out of five ill children, who died under the care of faith healers or being left to prayer only, would most likely have survived if they had received medical care.
The statistical studies from the nineteenth century and the three CCU studies on prayer are quite consistent with the fact that humanity is wasting a huge amount of time on a procedure that simply doesn’t work. Nonetheless, faith in prayer is so pervasive and deeply rooted, you can be sure believers will continue to devise future studies in a desperate effort to confirm their beliefs!
If any idiot texts me from church about heaven and hell they are blocked for life.
Anybody that says they talk to the gods is removed from my circle.
And then God said: "Though shall not tweet..."
Lol, you religious folk are crazy. You look for guidance on modern technology use from a 1500 year old book?
I wonder how many are actually texting and tweeting about Jesus? I suspect that there is a lot of checking football scores and playing Angry Birds
Let me just say I certainly don't have a problem with Christians texting and tweeting Bible verses. I actually think that is a good thing. I think we need to use technology every way we can to reach the lost. One of the ways I use it is these very message boards and my wife uses Facebook. But my problem comes when it is being done during the service. Do I think it's a sin? No. But remember, we're in church to worship the one who died so we could live. Phones should be turned off so as to have no distractions.
" But remember, we're in church to worship the one who died so we could live. Phones should be turned off so as to have no distractions."
It's defined as brainwashing.
Topher: You sure have swallowed that guilt thing, hook line and sinker. Good for you. Your blathering amuses us. It is sort of like watching a geek at the circus
Cults must recruit or die.
They need new victims to defraud so the parasites at the top of the Ponzi scheme can skim off cash.
That’s why they recruit in prisons, lunatic asylums, amongst drunks and anywhere they can find weak willed feeble minded people they can indoctrinate.
Within a century these behaviors shall be recognized as the evil they are, and shall be rejected by civilized men
The only question that remains is if we shall survive that long?
I hope so, but these lunatics really want their beloved Armageddon
This whole idea is disgusting.
Cool. They should push to allow you to bring your electric razor to service too.
I like to use the little baptism font for a quick bath.
