Author Lorna Byrne: I see angels

By Stephen Walsh, CNN

Are there really angels among us? Lorna Byrne claims she’s been able to see angels since she was a child. The Irish-born author of the international best-seller “Angels in My Hair” says guardian angels watch over believers and nonbelievers alike all the time.

So what exactly is an angel? The word angel is derived from the Greek angelos, which means "messenger." The Hebrew word malak has the same meaning. Christian theology teaches that angels are pure spirits created by God who carry out his will on Earth.

Byrne told CNN’s Dana Bash that she sees a multitude of angels that only appear around Christmastime. Watch the video to hear her describe what they look like and hear her advice to skeptics.

What do you think? Are angels real? Leave your comments below.

    seasons greetings!

there are no angels and those who believe in them are delusional.

remember kids – if you're delusional – that means you're out of touch with reality.

    ho ho ho!

The pope debunked the angel myth about a month ago.
    That means no angels.
The myth is flying out the door.

won't it be great when the pope crosses that bridge of finality and debunks the imaginary man in the sky?

      yup! sure will!

he will then be renamed Pope Reason I

      zing!

Santa, this isn't a court of law it's a discussion of beliefs. You can make your own conclusion based on what you see as evidence or not evidence, and I'm not challenging that. I saying however is that those conclusions are in fact based on personal POV and not on something that is absolute truth.

OG, thanks for finally clearing that on what you meant. You don't give any reference that your second post was in response to my questions. On the first part on why do I believe in angels deals with personal experience study, prayer and of course faith. Second of all, you are questioning allot of good and productive individuals should be put away into mental hospitals only because of a belief in angels. Third, if to don't know of anyone being in mental hospital because of belief in angels, how do you know if such treatment would be beneficial?

I don't know know for sure but believe that it is generally accepted that delusional thoughts (a mental illness) can be helped by mental health professionals including, if necessary, in a hospital setting.

Yes! Thank you God for heavenly Angels. Why do I believe? Because it says in the Bible. Because there are things that happen and perfect words from unknowing people that cannot be explained by anything other than an Angel. I heard a man speak about a time that he remembers as a child hearing Angels singing and I believe him. At 3 years old my daughter who because of delayed speech could barely speak but once when I was going through something very difficult she said something very profound and clearly as she looked up toward the sky and I could not help but think that it sounded like an angel was speaking through her. I wonder if perhaps some children are so pure of heart because they are not tainted by sin that they are able to hear angels, the Holy Spirit and God easier than others. Merry Christmas.

Rainer Braendlein, fear not the coming of the essential kangaroo. Strawberries are your incidental chemistry. Present the fulcrum in advance of the gypsum cookie, for as the tree is combed, so goes the predicate. In the locale of catalysts, there is always a way to the lavatory for the unimpeded.

Whether or not you agree with the plumber, harvest away ye hearties. Kalabash in Friebourg but not in spanners if you are so purple. It's raining. Bring out the mustard but flap flap flap until takeoff. Why would you say such a thing in the presence of the substrate? 64.

The impediment to your posterior is large but can be dissected with chestnuts and a screwdriver. Obermeyer. Glasnost and shallot cookies will do the main job (84)

And remember, never ever miss an opportunity to watch an elephant paint Mozart.

Finally an article about Jesus birth!

Actually it is only important for us to understand that the Son of God, Christ, became man, and he was called Jesus from Nazareth, the carpenters son.

The parents of Jesus, Mary and Joseph, were very poor. This becomes clear when we regard the small sacrifice which they were able to offer in connection with Jesus' circu-mcision.

Christ indeed became one of us, even a brother of the poorest people amongst us whereby he yet was a descendant of King David but at the time of Jesus birth the royality of Jesus family was no longer acknowledged.

Jesus was born into this world by a virgin. Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit, that means Jesus body was a new creation, Jesus was a new man (of course Jesus Christ's divine nature is eternal, and not created). Jesus felt no lust like we feel but he suffered much more hostility by the Jewish leaders than any Christian suffers today by disbeliefers or has ever suffered. At last the Jews and the Romans decided to crucify Jesus, and he was extremly tempted to forsake God in the garden Gethsemane.

We can be glad that the man Jesus remained in God, and accepted the will of his Father, and the will of his divine nature to die for the whole mankind.

Jesus has borne our sins on the cross. If we believe that, and get sacramentally baptized, we die and resurrect with him. In Christ we can overcome our natural sinfulness. Furthermore we are forgiven in Christ.

Let us praise Jesus for now and for ever that he died for us, and that he became man.

I am not a Catholic but a Protestant; yet I regard Baptism and the Lord's Supper as sacraments according to the German reformers Luther and Bonhoeffer.

Demons are bound to flesh of persons or beasts. Angels of God roam free, as do the adopted children of God.
One reason you don't see a lot of demon possession is because they have found the power of diesmbodied influence through mass media. They possess everyone to some degree, through ideology. There is a demonic message at the core of every sin that is "socially acceptable" Satan's wooing method, or demonology, has become ever so subtle.

Part III of the Deprogramming of two major religions:

" To believe in the existence of angels."

A major item for neuron cleansing. Angels/de-vils are the mythical creations of ancient civilizations, e.g. Hitt-ites, to explain/define natural events, contacts with their gods, big birds, sudden winds, protectors during the dark nights, etc. No "pretty/ug-ly wingy thingies" ever visited or talked to Mohammed, Jesus, Mary or Joseph or Joe Smith. Today we would classify angels as f–airies and "tin–ker be-lls". Modern de-vils are classified as the de-mons of the de-mented.
