    In moderation, anxiety isn’t always a bad thing. In fact, anxiety can help you stay alert and focused, spur you to action, and motivate you to solve problems. But when anxiety is constant or overwhelming, when it interferes with your relationships and activities, it stops being functional—that’s when you’ve crossed the line from normal, productive anxiety into the territory of anxiety disorders..."-;

The extremely strong gravity of a massive neutron star in orbit with a companion white dwarf star puts competing theories of gravity to a test more stringent than any available before

    Apr. 24, 2013 — Scientists have long believed that lava erupted from certain oceanic volcanoes contains materials from the early Earth's crust. To the non-Christians commenting on this article: I am so sorry for the interactions you've had with the Church, as it seems like a lot of you have reasons to hate believers like me. I'm sorry that we've wronged you, and I'm sorry that I've wronged non-believers in the past too. Your views of the world as a cruddy, broken place and of the church as a sinful, divided people are totally right. I will not at all deny that the divisiveness in the church makes us seem less credible, but I personally believe that's not at all God's fault– that is the fault of Christians.
    And to the Christians : watching the reactions of some of the believers to other commenters has sickened me- the cussing, the name calling. If they're reading this, I'd really for them to sit back for a minute and think about why they became Christians in the first place– because we're all pretty terrible at being good people and we all, Christian or not, do things that perpetuate the current state of the world. Never forget that you too have fallen short of the glory of God.

  7. Reality

    Do your own condom art on the cheap. Amazon sells them for 16 cents each with free Prime shipping. Might as well get some use out of them as many guys do not use them thereby resulting in the following horrific statistics:

    "Se-xually transmitted diseases (STDs) remain a major public health challenge in the United States. While substantial progress has been made in preventing, diagnosing, and treating certain S-TDs in recent years, CDC estimates that approximately 19 million new infections occur each year, almost half of them among young people ages 15 to 24.1 In addition to the physical and psy-ch-ological consequences of S-TDs, these diseases also exact a tremendous economic toll. Direct medical costs as-sociated with STDs in the United States are estimated at up to $14.7 billion annually in 2006 dollars."

      If we’d divert the OVER $150 billion dollar tax break that religion gets in this country every year, and divert it to the CURES for these maladies, we wouldn't NEED condoms!

  8. Voice Of Reason

    Actually, a pretty good likeness, all things considered.
    I have to at the man they interviewed who said "It's gross. It's not polite." Really? And why exactly is it "gross" and "not polite"? It's not like the artist chose USED condoms. Every one of them is brand new, so basically this is nothing more than a portrait made of latex. So ... clean latex is "gross" and "not polite" simply because it's shaped like a balloon? Really? My, how repressed. I wonder if he has an anxiety attack whenever he sees a magician or a clown make a balloon animal? (OK, so clowns DO make people anxious. But you get the point! LOL)

  12. { ! }

    HIV and condoms have coexisted for a long time before Benedict became pope. Yet the artiste ignored this important fact.
    Recently, a man was prosecuted in civil court. He was HIV+ and failed to inform his partners. If this artiste had integrity, she would have made a portrait of this man instead of the pope.After all, the pope hasn't been spreading HIV. Apparently, she can't look the bald truth in the face. Or she is a coward: if she created such a picture, the secular world would destroy her. Bashing the pope is fashionable so she is safe.
    THis paragon of the art world must think most HIV patients are catholics: "Pope, please tell me to use a condom so I won't spread this disease."

    • tallulah13

      The papal condemnation of condom use is making the fight against AIDS much more difficult, if not impossible, in places like sub-Saharan Africa, where there is an estimated 22 million people infected. I'd say the artist targeted the right person.

      tallulah13,

      In the 1960s and 70s, a secksual revolutuion was started. Millions of people were participating. Then it was discovered that they had been spreading HIV. I suggest that anyone who encouraged the secksual revolution or participated in it should redeem themselves by sending shiploads of condoms to Africa.

      Prayer does not; you are such a LIAR. You have NO proof it changes anything! A great example of prayer proven not to work is the Christians in jail because prayer didn't work and their children died. For example: Susan Grady, who relied on prayer to heal her son. Nine-year-old Aaron Grady died and Susan Grady was arrested.

      An article in the Journal of Pediatrics examined the deaths of 172 children from families who relied upon faith healing from 1975 to 1995. They concluded that four out of five ill children, who died under the care of faith healers or being left to prayer only, would most likely have survived if they had received medical care.

      The statistical studies from the nineteenth century and the three CCU studies on prayer are quite consistent with the fact that humanity is wasting a huge amount of time on a procedure that simply doesn’t work. Nonetheless, faith in prayer is so pervasive and deeply rooted, you can be sure believers will continue to devise future studies in a desperate effort to confirm their beliefs!
