Seriously? You think that the all-powerful skywizard is crying because two girls are kissing? Of all the problems in the country, this is what congress is moaning about?
Tells you something about the caliber of the people we elect, doesn't it?
Actually the uptight azzholes on the right don't mind seeing, if not paying to see, two girls kissing. It's two guys kissing that they can't cope with. And of course, anal S3x is icky, unless it's with your wife.
The Bible is clear, both the Old Testament and the New Testament. Gays are sinners. Now, you can argue the relevance of this book to 21st Century American social policy, but it is pretty dam.n clear on the point.
If that is true, why do so many Christians disagree on the matter?
Forget the Bible. That is like believing Harry Potter is real.
Gay ism is hinduism, denial of truth absolute by hindu secular ism, self center ism, not of human, but of animals, secular s, self centered by nature.
The Bible violates separation of church and state. Our laws are pretty damn clear about that.
The Bible is clear, both the Old Testament and the New Testament that it and the people who believed in it are ABSOLUTELY WRONG, no matter what the cultural context is of the 21st century.
I have no idea. Look, I can cite Leviticus and a couple of Pauline Epistles openly hostile to hom.o$exuality. Can gay advocates cite anything in the bible in favor of gay marriage. No, they can't. It is that simple. If you take your morality from the bible, you must accept that hom.o$exuality is a sin. Alternatively, drop the Bible as the source of your moral code.
Unfortunately for you and all other Babble Humpers, your magic book is merely a crappy bit of fiction with no credibility except among mentally ill delusional dead jew zombie vampire cannibal death cult members, aka christians. Again, a great day for equal rights and another step towards the end of religion.
Guess what, lots of people are sinners in your god's eyes! According to your book, aren't all people sinners? Why don't you cry and moan about laws against all of those?
If you take the Bible as your moral code, you must kill and love others at the same time. OXYMORON !
2 Billion personal interpretations in hundreds of languages, some of which are extinct, over thousands of years and YOUR TELLING ME THE BIBLE IS CLEAR??????????????
Your bible couldn't even tell us the Earth was round! That's the first error of many in your fantasy book!
The Bible is likewise clear in the Old and New Testaments that there should not be any Divorce or Abortions. That could not be clearer, succinct, and to the point yet many straights still continue to do it and they have the gall to call themselves Christians no less. What a joke!
Sorry but the Bible is nothing but a bunch of myths stolen from previous faiths. It is not original. It is not new. There is not even one version of it. Given how many Christian groups there are, no one can even agree what Christianity actually is. None of you can actually agree on what Jesus would do. The New Testament has almost nothing from Jesus himself. It is most Paul spreading his prejudices.
In any event, we are not a theocracy. Worship what you want in your churches and keep it there. Silent. Just like your Bible commands.
Yea, they really can't write fiction like they used to. They should make a movie out of it! They make movies out of other crap fiction. Maybe they can get Morgan Freeman to play God...he'd make a sweet God!
Here's the thing, we don't care what your book says.
Your book does not govern our country. It does not hold any authority over those who don't believe in it's authority. Why should I care what a group of Bronze age Jews were so afraid of and culturally traumatized by? Why should what Paul says about anything to do with sex affect me. He's the guy who told people not to get married unless they couldn't control themselves.
It comes right down to the fact that here, in the US, we are a nation where religion can not affect our laws. Period. Today, we moved one step closer to actually accomplishing that.
@HotAirAce and Mike. Of course the Bible is a pile of bullsh.it. That is not my point. Try fvcking reading what I said. The Bible is oppenly hostile to gay rights. So, those who support gay rights have a choice. They either wise up and drop this silly book as being at all relevant to 21st Century USA social policy or they accept that they violate it.
Did you get it this time, or do I need to say it a third time for you??
So you think social policy is the only issue? Ha! Then there is science – and that's where it is becoming pretty embarrassing for those who still claim the Bible has the final word. Just like Christians had to come to accept many other things in science (i.e., the sun does not rotate around the earth), they had better buckle down and start to deal with what biology and psychology is telling us now that meets suspicions that we've already had for a long time and have already known about in other forms of life.
Gay, how is gay marriage impacting you, personally? It doesn't. Grow up and leave people in peace to live their lives. Worry about your own judgmental salvation.
You can also probably cite all of the ra•pe laws in Deuteronomy, too, but so what?
Gays Violate, your first post was not as clear as your second post which was not posted when I posted my first reply. . .
The church hates gays therefore God hates gays. And that is the true order of that tribal mindset.
A separation is taking place in America. The true from the false, the true follower of Jesus Christ and the religious, those on the side of righteousness and those who are against.
What people think about this issue is irrelevant. What God thinks about this issue is all that matters. God is apposed to all sin. Why? because sin doesn't work. The wages of sin is death. No matter how hard people try to rationalize sin away, it still doesn't work. Why? because God and God alone is the one who decides what is right and wrong, not men and woman.
Only those who humble themselves before God will understand the wisdom of His laws and ways.
Really? So if I can't decide what is right and what is wrong? Are you saying that your bigotry is what God supports? I think not.
And how does this all apply to those who do not believe in your sky-fairy? Are they to be bound by the rules you attribute to it, too?
God does not govern our country. The people do.
And resoundingly, the people are speaking up and saying that they support equal rights for everyone.
Don't like gay marriage because of your religious beliefs? Here's an idea, don't marry someone of the same gender. You just don't get to tell me that I can't.
Mike L is right but the good news is that mentally ill believers and their delusional beliefs are being more clearly separated from the clear thinking non-religious. Too bad for the believers.
Notice: All sin is wrong. All have sinned and fallen short of God's glory. This is why Jesus died on the cross, so that we could not only be freed from sin but also the penalty of sin. God loves all people as proven by Jesus' death on the cross for the sins of humanity. Now we have the opportunity to turn from our wicked ways and receive Jesus as our Lord and Savior.
We will all have to give an account at the judgement seat of Christ. Today is the day of salvation!
Mike L, sin as defined in The Babble only apples to the idiots who accept The Babble, and are members of the jewish or christian cults, unless you have some evidence for your claims, which should only be characterized as bullsh!t until said evidence is provided.
As I stated in my original comment, "Only those who humble themselves before God will understand the wisdom of His laws and ways." I am praying for you Hot Air Ace
As I say to anyone, regardless of age or gender. that comes to my door to sell their mythical crap, "I'm sure you think you are a very nice person, but get the fuck off my property and do not come back." In other words, shove your useless prayers up your azz!
Not impressed with your god... Two sticks and a few nails is all it took to kill him
Jesus' death on the cross is only part of the story. Jesus arose from the death. Jesus is alive!
One day we will all stand before Him to give an account of how we lived our life!
Mke L, you continue to make unfounded and unqualified claims. Just more mythical bullsh!t.
Huckabee's reaction is priceless.
Everything is "priceless" until a price is placed on it. The value placed on Huckabee's comment goes to the lowest bidder! Namely ZERO!
To all those Christians out there who oppose gay marriage, if your sky-fairy is so powerful, why is it He can't even win a Suprem Court case? You poor simpletons – another case of reality making a mockery of your Greco-Roman mythology.
Hopefully another nail in the coffin of Christianity. The more cultural norms move on past this silly superst.ition, the less credibility it has, even to the mainstream public.
Jesus can't weep because he's mythological.
Seriously? They let me post the random stuff I posted before but won't allow me to post congratulations to taking down DOMA?
Dirty word filter got you...
There is a word filter that will block your post if you use certain words. Often, they are hidden in other words like consttution and document, where tt and cum will hang you up.
To get around it put empty html tags in the middle of the "bad" word or simply put a . between the letters.
I don't even remember putting a dirty word the first time. Idk. Being a sensitive little thing today obviously.
asdggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg
It should read "Jesus wept tears of joy!!" Great news for great people!!
I was on the train on my way to work when the decisions came down. I cried unashamed tears of joy.
It isn't a complete victory for equality, but it is certainly a step in the right direction.
Mike Huckabee. What a hypocrite. I suppose he faithfully follows the word of Gawd–which is why he had to destroy all the hard drives in his offices' computers when he left as governor of Arkansas.
Bravo America... finally a real answer respecting people's rights. I ma not sure if Jesus wept or not. However, Jesus stood for justice and respect and for sure no one can deny that. Jesus loves everyone gay or straight, tall or short, American or else. We live today in a world where bigotry is not allowed and Jesus' name should never be used to private hate agendas.
That is if Jesus existed in the first place at all.
Why is it a religious debate ... when we all know that ...

Hey Huckabee, if you lived in California you would know the Mormon Church spent $83 million on Prop 8. The opposition was disorganized and spent a fraction of that. Most people who voted for it, had no idea what they were voting for. Please crawl back into your cave and let mankind evolve as needed.
Don't put one Mormon on there and think she speaks for all of us. She's clearly in the minority when it comes to the way Mormons feel on this issue.
I don't think that many people are making that mistake.
Mr. Huckabee, Jesus weeps for you and your ignorance. And tomorrow's support the troops day? Something you are promoting? Don't forget to exclude those gays in the armed forces in harms way for their country who long to just be able to return home safe and sound, and someday marry someone they truly love. Jesus couldn't possibly want them to be happy and lead full, rich lives, right? You disgust me. You're not only ignorant beyond reproach, you're anti-American and you don't even get it. That's right, anti-American, holding this country back from it's all-embracing, all-inclusive democratic ideals, and wrapping yourself in our flag like that's going to fool anyone as to your bigoted heart.
Fuck Mike Huckabee and all other religious charlatans and shamans! A great day for equal rights!!
I second that.
Third!

In truth there was only one true Christian, and he died on the Cross.

PO- Thus spoke Zarathustra!
and he was right.
Weeps from intolerance.
