Egypt's Christians under pressure as churches are torched

By Laura Smith-Spark, CNN

(CNN) - As violence again scars Egypt, Christians in the country believe they're being targeted amidst the chaos following a government crackdown on Muslim Brotherhood protest camps in Cairo.

There have been dozens of attacks on Christian churches, homes and businesses in the past 24 hours. Full details of the attacks are still emerging, as the country reels from its bloodiest day in recent history.

Bishop Angaelos, the Cairo-born head of the Coptic Orthodox Church in the United Kingdom, said he was told by colleagues in Egypt that 52 churches had been attacked in the space of 24 hours beginning Wednesday, as well as numerous Christian homes and businesses across the country.

Ishak Ibrahim, a researcher with the Egyptian Initiative for Personal Rights, told CNN he had confirmed attacks on at least 30 churches so far, in addition to the targeting of church-related facilities, including schools and cultural centers.

Oh, ooooohhh. Anuther Jesus is being preached.
"..............................In the meantime it is the duty of all the Muslims, especially the Shi'ah, to strive steadfastly for the creation of the proper atmosphere and the right climate for the establishment of a world order based on justice, virtue and piety. They should not only mould their individual lives according to the teachings and high ideals of Islam, but they should also bend their efforts to set up the Islamic order on the collective and communal level...................."

Sad that the Muslim Brotherhood that Obama helped put into office are now burning churches. Kinda shows where Obama sides on this conflict.

Even more so when you have Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia (one of the world's top violators for human rights and where there is NO freedom of religion), is offering billions (more than the U.S. was) in financial aid IF the Egyptian Military will keep the Muslim Brotherhood out of power! Makes you REALLY question Obama's decision. I think the key word here for the GCC countries is "stability" in the region and they know the MB does not have that same goal. God bless Egypt...and may God bless the GCC for helping the side of freedom where the U.S. President has failed at it. Shame on you President Obama.

How soon will our country be fighting over our religion? I bet it's hard to believe but we're already fighting over our religion when all our religions are fighting against one another. But it doesn't matter what faith you are, as long as you believe in God and somehow get to heaven. As long as you read the Bible and follow God's commandments it doesn't matter what you believe as long as you have a relationship with the creator you'll be fine. Only God knows how committed to him anyways so why do what other people think matters to us? Because we're looking for acceptance. That is what it all boils down too, not saying we should be doing that, it's what we're doing.
