Jesus statue unscathed by Typhoon Haiyan

(CNN) - A  giant statue of Jesus apparently survived Typhoon Haiyan unscathed, even as the massive storm flattened many parts of Tanauan, a coastal town in the central Philippines.

It's not the first time religious statues have survived natural disasters in the heavily Catholic Philippines, according to local reports. Two statues of the Virgin Mary withstood a devastating earthquake last month.

Meanwhile, Haiyan has wiped entire towns off the map, and thousands are searching for family members, food and water.

MORE ON CNN: Philippines aid pours in but survivors still going hungry

So, what do you think, readers: Is the unscathed Jesus statue a miraculous sign of hope amid the ruins or just a random coincidence?

Idolatry is not a religion, idolatry is a very grave and serious SIN that carries within itself it's own very grave and very serious consequences. The worst of which being, that Idolaters WILL NOT enter Heaven but will be sent to the other place that IS NOT HEAVEN.

God of the gaps. It's an expression to denote what theists use to "fill in the void" for the unknown.

As astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson explains in his talk The Perimeter of Ignorance, throughout history many of the great minds give virtually no mention to any god for their discoveries and explanations. (Ptolemy, Isaac Newton, Laplace, Huygens, Galileo.) That is, until they reach the problem they feel they cannot and will never fully tackle.

Perhaps that is all God has ever been – a placeholder for discomfort or frustration over the unknown; an excuse of last resort when, for one reason or another, one gives up investigation. It is at that point of discomfort over the unknown when one should remember what humanity has already witnessed: that today's scientific explanations were often yesterday's gods.

What is the effect when man relies solely on his gap-filling gods? Consider this:

Two-thirds of star names have Arabic names. They came from Islam's fertile period (AD 800-1100.) During that time Baghdad was the intellectual center of the world, open to people of all or no faiths. During that time were some of the greatest advances known to mankind: engineering, biology, medicine, mathematics, celestial navigation; this is the time and place that gave us numerals we use, terms like algebra and algorithm.

Enter Imam Hamid al-Ghazali in the 12th century. The fundamentally religious period of Islam begins, and so begins the steady decline of free intellectual expression in that area of the world. Some would argue that it has since never recovered.

Of course the effects of such reliance touches us today – even in the U.S. We see some who refuse medical care for their children for instance.

"[If] the nature of... government [were] a subordination of the civil to the ecclesiastical power, I [would] consider it as desperate for long years to come. Their steady habits [will] exclude the advances of information, and they [will] seem exactly where they [have always been]. And there [the] clergy will always keep them if they can. [They] will follow the bark of liberty only by the help of a tow-rope." -Thomas Jefferson

How does mankind himself even know what the Son of the living God looks like? And, according to your storybook, "God" knew that he would hate Esau, even before "he" created him... and created him anyway. Hideous, immoral, stupid god.

    Bible Trivia…

2 Peter 3:8 – One day with the Lord is as 1000 years with man…

    1 God day = 1,000 Man years.

    1,000 Man years = 365,000 days.

    100 Man years = 36,500 days, or 1/10 of a God day.

1 God day is 24 God hours. Therefore, 1/10 of a God day is 2.4 God hours.

Therefore, if a man lives to be 100 years old, his whole lifetime would only be 2.4 hours to God…

Tip: Ever wonder why God doesn't waste time trying to punish certain evil people on earth? (think, atheists). It's because you'll be dead and in hell in less than 2.4 hours. So he'll wait and get you on Judgment Day…

"Do not judge so that you will not be judged. 2"For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you.…" Matthew 7:1-2

Personally I think assuming what God would or wouldn't do is kind of silly. In my personal opinion, since I'm fully aware that I'm human and make mistakes if I ever stand before God for actual judgement, I think I'd prefer to be judged a little less harshly than to judge other people for their intrinsic belief systems and then have that same measure applied against me if I got something wrong. However, you're free to live your life as you choose as long as you don't hurt others. It was just some food for thought.

where trying to warn every one that Judgement day is coming when every knee shall bow in heaven on earth and under the earth if that's being a ass hole then your stupid. I hope you have more since to think that Christianity is being a ass hole because where not where giving everybody the hope to get into heaven and that's through Jesus Christ. see when Adam sinned in the garden from that point on we need a savior the one and only son of God. Christ ant a ass he died for you. For we all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of god. know man is perfect there is just redeemed and not children of god and not. For god so loved the world that he gave is only begotten son that whosoever believes in him should not die but have everlasting life ,for god did not send his son in the world to condemn the world but through him the world might be saved. the warning from god is out what will you do deny your god and go to the pit or believe in the son of god and be saved notice I didn't say be perfect.

"I know we've only known each other four weeks and three days, but to me it seems like nine weeks and five days.

The first day seemed like a week and the second day seemed like five days.

And the third day seemed like a week again and the fourth day seemed like eight days.

And the fifth day you went to see your mother and that seemed just like a day, and then you came back and later on the sixth day.

In the evening, when we saw each other, that started seeming like two days, so in the evening it seemed like two days spilling over into the next day and that started seeming like four days, so at the end of the sixth day on into the seventh day, it seemed like a total of five days.

And the sixth day seemed like a week and a half. I have it written down, but I can show it to you tomorrow if you want to see it." - "The Jerk"

Observer… Next time, try reading a "real" bible (Original KJV) and not taking it out of context…

Ezekiel 1:1 – The word of the LORD came unto me again, saying, 2 What mean ye, that ye use this proverb concerning the land of Israel, saying, The fathers have eaten sour gra_pes, and the children's teeth are set on edge? 3 As I live, saith the Lord GOD, ye shall not have occasion any more to use this proverb in Israel…

Thus the question the prophet Ezekiel had asked was concerning the proverb – "The father have eaten sour gra_pes, and the children's teeth are set on edge". It had nothing to do with the scripture I had quoted…

Atheists love to take things out of context. So "Ooooops" is right. And you've now made yourself a fool for all the world to see…

As regarding the 20th verse which says (OKJV) – "The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son, etc… Note the statement was preceded with – "the soul that sinneth, it shall die". Meaning, AFTER DEATH your soul shall not inherit the sins or the father, etc. Meaning, God will not hold the sins of the father against you on Judgment Day. Hebrew 9:7 states – "It is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: But while you are yet alive on this earth, if your father does things which God doesn't like, then rest assured, God can indeed take the life of that son or daughter you love, in order to punish the father who is sinful. He does it all the time. Furthermore, it also holds truth that when God takes that son or daughter's life, he is not punishing the son or daughter, instead he is only punishing the father who is sinful. That always was the case. Which was why I stipulated in my last post, that God could see to it that the child's soul would be saved and make it into heaven. If God were punishing the child, that would not be the case…

Psalms 37:14 – The wicked plotteth against the just, and gnasheth upon him with his teeth… (Meaning, people like you love to sit back and plot, and try to find ways to bring a believer down. But I can't be brought down because I have truth. And truth cannot be defeated.)…

        Opposing View,

LOL. Try again. Here are verses 14-17 that precede it.

“If, however, he begets a son Who sees all the sins which his father has done, And considers but does not do likewise;Who has not eaten on the mountains,Nor lifted his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, Nor defiled his neighbor’s wife; Has not oppressed anyone, Nor withheld a pledge, Nor robbed by violence, But has given his bread to the hungry And covered the naked with clothing; Who has withdrawn his hand from the poor And not received usury or increase, But has executed My judgments And walked in My statutes— He shall not die for the iniquity of his father; He shall SURELY LIVE!"

That leads to "The son SHALL NOT BEAR the guilt of the father". NOTHING ABOUT THE SOUL OF THE SON.

Our Lord Jesus Christ is a good, kind, loving God. We are now living under the period of His Grace (His Unmerited , Underserved Favor). All disasters are the act of the enemy, fooling the people that they are the "act of God" and that “God is still angry with the believers and non-believers.” Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; because you (the priestly nation) have rejected knowledge.

John 10:10 Jesus said: The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. At the cross, our Lord Jesus has completely taken our place of God's judgement of our sin. It is written: "Jesus said: it is finished." Roman 5:9 Therefore, since we are now justified (acquitted, made righteous, and brought into right relationship with God) by Christ’s blood, how much more [certain is it that] we shall be saved by Him from the indignation and wrath of God. After you are born again, God has given you the authority in Christ. Luke: 10:19 I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing shall by any means hurt you. Mark 11:24 Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them. Jesus calmed the storm in Mark 4:35:41:Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. When you believe jesus as your salvation, Christ is one in you. Deuteronomy 31:8 It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; He will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed. Isaiah 54:17 No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgement you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from Me,” says the Lord. Romans 5:17 For if by the one man’s offense (Adam’s offense) death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.) Philippians 2:8-11 He humbled Himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross. Therefore, God elevated Him to the place of honor and gave Him the name above all other names, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. By faith, you are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. Not of your own righteousness. You should be conscious of Jesus abundance of Grace and His gift of His righteousness in you. You are to use your authority that He has given you in the name of Jesus against the act of the evil forces. Romans 8:32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? Check out Psalm 91, Ephesians 6:10-18 Put on the whole armour of God and Psalm 100. Matthew11:28-30 28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” God is love. Be conscious of His love. Blessings to you all!

If that is true then he is worst than Hitler, and while we are on the subject why didn't he stop Hitler? We stopped Hitler, so we must love people more than he does.

Salvation is believing that God is love. Be conscious of His love. By faith, you shall be saved. If your mind accepts that God is still a judge, unbelief and fear creeps in and in Proverbs 23:7 For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. Simply believe that God loves and delights in you. "Psalms 91 A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you." It is important to keep God's word in your heart and speak God's word in faith to the situation your are facing. And You shall see "PSalm 91: Only with your eyes shall you look and see the reward of the wicked." Check out Psalm 91and meditate it day and night. I will not waste my time writing this if God is not good. He is amazingly good. He has helped me so much over and over again because of His Grace. He is always blamed for what the world is going on. Let go of all this anger, simply trust in Him. We can understand and see things in peripheral perspectives. Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. Peace!

Page 9 To answer the writer named "Opposing View" : You do not need to receive water baptism or be born again first in order to receive the blessings of God. I was first blessed by God and after some years later I had water baptism. Romans 2:4 His goodness and kindness lead us to repentance. Many people who were healed by our Lord Jesus in the new testament were not born again before they received blessings from Him. Mark 9:39-40: 39 38 “Teacher,” said John, “we saw someone driving out demons in your name and we told him to stop, because he was not one of us.” But Jesus said, “Do not forbid him, for no one who works a miracle in My name can soon afterward speak evil of Me. 40 For he who is not against us is on our side. Romans 10:13 For "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." Peace!

Su… You're mixing scriptures up and is taking them out of context. All scriptures from Romans to Revelation is doctrine written for saints. Those scriptures are talking to people who are already saved. To people who already have the Holy Ghost. Those scriptures are not talking to unsaved people in the world. Both of those scriptures you quoted in Romans is also talking to people who are already saved. They are not talking to people who do not have the Holy Ghost. Yes, you can receive blessings. But those blessings will not save your soul. For your soul to be saved, you must follow Acts 2:38. No exceptions….

Cognitive dissonance appears. Man cannot cause all evil and the Holy Bible be the Word of God.

It Is A Foolish Thing To Question God. But For All Those Foolish Enough To Ask Why? Here Is Your Answer…

All evil on earth is caused by the sins of man. Period. And it may or may not be for the sins you personally committed either. It could also be for the sins of others. And there is bible scripture to back this up:

Deuteronomy 5: 7 – Thou shalt have none other gods before me. 9 Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me. 10 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me and keep my commandments…

As the above scripture indicates, the eternal God has given us certain commandments. If we love him and keep those commandments (10th verse) then he will show mercy and love and protect us. But if you fail to keep his commandments, then he will also "visit the iniquity of the fathers upon the children until the third and fourth generation of them that hate me". Think about that, and understand what it means. It means that something your parents, or grandparents, or great grandparents, did etc. back to your third and fourth generation could be the cause of what is happening to you now. God could be hitting you and your family as punishment for what your ancestors did. Or, if you yourself commit sin, then God may not hit you, but he may wait and hit your children and your grand children. That is how God works. Rather than hitting you, he'll wait and hit you where it hurts the most. He'll hit your children and those you love. You cannot escape it. If you commit sin, you will someday be punished for it. God did the same thing to Israel (the reason they were in the wilderness for 40 years is because God was punishing them for something they had did) and he'll do the same thing to you…

Everybody on earth should know that evil is getting worse right now – atheists are on the rise, gays are parading in the streets, and gay laws are being passed to favor those who are evil – and they do this despite the fact the bible has long made it clear such things are an abomination before God. Mankind evermore pursues evil while ignoring the will of God. So do you really think that God is going to just sit back and continue to bless the earth, while men upon the earth continue to pursue evil? Think again. God will not allow it. Sooner or later, you'll have to pay for it. And rest assured, the Philippines is just one example of that. For example, how many evil people in the world vacation in the Philippines? Lots. It is a hotbed of evil. And those hotbeds are usually God's first targets. And as evil continues to increases, so also shall the wrath of God. And keep in mind, his wrath may or may not be against you personally for something you done (but then again, it could be as well) but he could also be hitting you and your family for something your ancestors had did…

And before you atheists start responding back, cursing and swearing and saying all manner of evil things, perhaps you should comprehend what I said above. Meaning, your very cursing and swearing and evil thoughts now could led to the wrath of God coming down on future generations of your own family. God may not hit you personally, but he may wait and hit them. And it will be entirely your own fault. You shall not escape. So think before you mouth off…

The belief that a deity would punish my great great grandchild because I said a swear word yesterday is just one more reason to reject the notion of deities.

doobzz…And is also the very reason that whole generations of people like you will end up in hell. And is also the very reason this whole world will only continue getting worse and worse (calamity and destruction) because of fools like you. Yes, you are the reason for it. Imagine that…

Nope. Nice try. Bible literalists are silly. By your interpretation, you yourself will be hell bound because you cannot possibly know what your ancestors did four generations ago.

Here we go again. I notice just the most dim-witted theists cling to these silly arguments from the basis of some all-encompassing alleged "truth". Well, I have to ask again – can you demonstrate this absolute "truth" in some way that doesn't involve subjectivity/ human consensus? Because it is supposed to come directly and purely from your God, right?

Doris… There is no greater "absolute truth" than the word of God. What part of that do you not understand? If you're looking for truth in the devil, then it doesn't exist. While you argue with me and think you have the truth, unbeknownst to you, your every word and every thought is of the devil. You cannot even perceive the truth, even though it's slapping you in the face…

Ti_tus 1:15 – Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled...

OV – how did you come by this alleged absolute "truth"? Something tells me that the way in which you came by it can only render it subjective, or via consensus, and not anything absolute or objective at all. But please try to correct me on that.

OK, OV, so you came by your notion of an absolute "truth" from some words in a millenia-old writing from a time where we know very little about the authors of such writings; where we have no external evidence of the magic that is purported in some of those writings. So not only did you not come by it without subjectivity/consensus, but what are claimed in the works as a whole are upon a very flimsy basis. Can you not impress me any more than that?

It's what people latch onto when they reach an uncomfortable unknown. Even the most brilliant scientists have reached this point, where some might say they just don't know, but others, wanting to always have an answer for everything, will say the answer is God.

Could it simply be that you are uncomfortable realizing that the source for your belief initially came via subjective mean / consensus of other humans?

Must be why you evade everyone's questions. Because you can't.

          Mathew 7:5

@Opposing View : Or are you really that illiterate...

Caution. Would you speak this way to Jesus?

Matthew 25:40 “The King will reply, ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.’

          November 16, 2013 at 5:09 pm |
        • Opposing View

Live4Him… That same Jesus also said this:

1 John 4:6 – We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error…

          He also said this:

John 8:47 – He that is of God heareth God's words. Ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God...

Meaning, you can tell a devil (an unbeliever) by the way he talks. For, if I'm of God (and I am ) and I'm speaking the truth of God (and I am because I know where I got my info from) and a person is constantly disagreeing with me, then that person is not of God no matter what they say. Because he that is of God heareth the words of God. Thus, they are NOT my brother or my sister either, not by a long shot. But will continue on hell just like all the other devils. For I have the spirit of truth. And they only have the spirit of error…

If you had two children and one disobayed you, would you punish the other innocent child? Because that is in your opinion, what god does to us. It goes aganist what Jeasus said " the Father loves you more than you love your own children"

        November 16, 2013 at 2:47 pm |
        • Opposing View

jokeingjoe… You are not God. Nor can you do what God does. Secondly, if a parent has a child and God allows that child to die, does not the parent feel it? Is not that punishment for the parent? (particularly if you loved the child, and the child died because of something you had did). Furthermore, even in that instance, God could save the soul of the child, and ensure the child makes it to heaven (all souls belong to God). Whereas, as the parent, you'd be on earth suffering because of the death of your child – which was caused by you disobeying God in the first place. God is not somebody you want to mess with. He will get you in the end…

Regarding your statement where Jesus said, "the Father loves you more than you love your own children." he was talking to his disciples, his 12 apostles. He wasn't talking to sinners in the world…

Why do atheists always speak only of what they "think", rather than what they "know"?... Answer: It's because they realize, if they speak only of what they "know", then they don't know very much…

We we are saved know precisely who wrote the gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. It was the disciples and apostles by the same name. Duh…

LOL – well I'm glad that you have exposed the simplicity of your belief, OV. That says a lot. Of course you'll have a rough time getting an agreement on that notion of authorship from just about anyone. By the way, I recommend that you take a look at this video regarding some other aspects of the Biblical writers:

A speech by Bart Ehrman at Stanford about the story behind who changed the bible and why and the history of the bible and how they got tainted. He is a former Christian bible scholar who studied the bible and found the mistakes and became an agnostic.

This speech is a must see for christians who ask questions like:
          Who wrote the gospels?
Is the bible the word of God?
          Are there contradictions?
          Does the bible contain errors?
          Is there evidence or proof?

Bart Ehrman holds a PhD magna cum laude from Princeton Theological Seminary. He is currently the James A. Gray Distinguished Professor of Religious Studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Although I am now an athiest, I don't want to offend people who believe in a god.. They are only human, and they are responding to what others in thier lives have told them since they were too young to question the information. As now I am a non-believer I feel a little empty and less happy about life.I changed at the ripe old age of 74 , and questioned my religion because of how mean god seemed to be. I remember some Old testament storys about god leading the Jews into battles with other peoples with orders to kill all men, women and children. Now, If god made us and loved us like a father, how could he kill innocent children? What human father in his right mind would do that. Hitler maybe? I do believe however be cause I was brought up as a christian and was taught to love and forgive, that religions can and do benefit humanity. It is the radicals that are the problem. They lead us to hate others that are different than us, and therefore kill them out of fear they will take us over, or our religions. PLEASE, JUST BE NICE to everyone. That is as good a religion as any, and get rid of the radicals that lead us to hate. Please tone down what you are saying to people you disagree with and use radical thought to make your point.

jokeingjoe… To be saved, you must hate what God hate, and love what God loves. If that is too "radical" for you, and if you are unable to do that, then you will die in your sins and be cast into the lake. And you'll then have an eternity in those flames to ponder your stupidity… Last time I checked, the eternal God was the only one saving souls and offering eternal life. And all the good deeds in the universe (no matter how superior you think they are) they don't mean a thing if it sends your soul to the lake…

I don't believe in your god, I don't believe in your bible. It has about the same claims as scripture from many other religions that say if I don't follow them I'll be doomed. These are quaint notions of man prior to the enlightenment and scientific age. There is no Abrahamic god, no satan, no hell, no heaven. I follow the laws of the US because I value a productive society and I value my fellow humans, not for the fraudulent promise of a beautiful or horrible afterlife. So all the people studying the beliefs of ancient cultures are children? I hope your god really values arrogance, then you'll be highly regarded.

Btw, by your definition of qualification, you can't speak about your God, you have provided no objective evidence of its existence. Your opinion about your God is worthless.

Bostontola… What a coincidence. Your father is the father of it (arrogance). And your reward is in hell…

John 8::44 – Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do…

You win one argument, you proved that a person (you) can have a worthless opinion.

Bostontola... Following the ole rule book, eh...

Atheist Rule #1: Denial is the first line of defense of any atheist. Deny anything you don't want to accept…

I denied nothing, what are you talking about?

Bostontola… You also have no understanding. You are denying that it is your own opinion that is worthless. Which I've indicated from the start. Learn some truth and then get back to me…

All evil on earth is actually caused by people hurting other people. Saying that you don't believe in a literary character like God isn't hurting anyone. Many religious pronouncements, like the declaration that being gay is somehow "wrong", actually do hurt people, often degrading them so significantly that they see no value in living in a world so filled with hate. That's where there real "evil" lies.

Pete… Unbelief does indeed hurt people. It means you're deceiving people. It means that you're lying to people. It means you're living a lie. It means you're living a life which by example is saying to people that they don't have to think about God, don't have to worship God or serve God, and that everything will be alright in the end. That is not true and is all a lie. In the end those same people who has fallen for your lies will end up in hell. Your own children, whom you claim to love, will end up in hell. So how can you say having unbelief is not hurting anyone? It does indeed hurt people. And it's hurting more than just you…

As for your remarks about "telling people being gay is wrong" is hurting people. That's utter and pure nonsense. Only an atheists would feel that way We're trying to help people and to keep them out of hell. And we can only do that by telling them the truth. Whereas, lying to people and saying things which make them feel good, that doesn't help them at all. For what does a good feeling matter if you end up in hell?…

Rubbish. You're as bad as the pope that tried to tell Galileo that he was wrong. The writing is on the wall for hom-ose-xuality in the human species. But, by all means be the ignorant type who only hastens the obscurity of Christianity because of your backwardness.

Doris… Your opinion means nothing if you can't back it up by truth. And there is only one truth: the word of God…

Oh, I forgot, "truth" is something you don't have….

Well what is that "truth", OV – now you have three places where you can conveniently answer this. Congratulations! Can you demonstrate this alleged absolute "truth"?

I won't hold my breath waiting..

Doris… If you haven't already comprehended the truth I've said, then it is because of the following...

2 Corinthians 4:4 – In whom the god of this world has blinded the minds of them which believe not . . .

          Beyond that, I won't respond to nonsense…

How retarded that you think that God would punish my great great grandchildren for something I did today, even if they were the most devout in the world....

Btw, brimstone boy, I mouth off because I am Christian, and I CAN judge you; you are wholly wrong.

Perverting the word of God is just as bad as what you accuse atheists of doing.

      Down, boy.

Mandy… You must be standing in the mirror. The only person I see who's retarded is you. Too retarded to comprehend or plain english that has been written in the scriptures – "visiting the INIQUITY OF THE FATHERS upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me." If you're to ignorant and too retarded to comprehend that, then don't blame me for your own unintelligence…

" Too retarded to comprehend or plain english that has been written in the scriptures "

Scripture/Schmipture. How about if you read these:

          – You cure leprosy by having a dove killed, dipping a live one in its blood and having it fly around. Also, you have to anoint the toes of the suffer with the blood.–Leviticus 14

          – You discover unfaithful wives when their bellies swell and their thighs rot after they are made to drink some magical water. – Numbers 5

          – Prized striped goats are bred by having the mating parents stare at striped objects. –Genesis 30

          – You may buy, own, sell, and will slaves to your descendants (only foreigners for slaves, though, no Israelis) –Leviticus 25

          - “If two men are fighting, and the wife of one man tries to rescue her husband by grabbing the other man’s private parts, you must cut off her hand. Don’t have any mercy." Deuteronomy 25

There are several other similar instances of absolute rubbish that this "God" purportedly "spoke", along with a bunch of other rules and laws and rituals that are obviously only from the minds of primitive men. How anyone can believe that this stuff came from a real smart divine being is ludicrous.

As I have pointed out before, a point you completely ignored, you are yourself hellbound because you have no idea what your ancestors did before you.

          How do you reconcile that?

You 'll evade, as you have done in every other point that others addressed you with.

-"I lay the sins of the parents upon their children; the entire family is affected–even children in the third and fourth generations of those who reject me." (Exodus 20:5)
-"The LORD God, compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in lovingkindness and truth; 7who keeps lovingkindness for thousands, who forgives iniquity, transgression and sin; yet He will by no means leave the guilty unpunished, visiting the iniquity of fathers on the children and on the grandchildren to the third and fourth generations." (Exodus 34:7)

What it means to me is that God is like an abusive lover, who beats you up and expects you to lick his boots afterwards. That an inanimate object should be unharmed while thousands of people suffered and died means either there is no God, or God doesn't care about people's pain.

Signs you are in an abusive relationship:

      – Monitors what you're doing all the time
      – Decides things for you that you should be allowed to decide (like what to wear or eat)
      – Threatens to hurt you, or your children if you don’t love him
      – Blames you for his or her violent outbursts or shortcomings
      – Being s.e.xually controlling
      – You have an impending sense of consequence that will come if you don't "obey."
      – Tells you that you are “nothing” without him and you don’t deserve his love
